Qualifications
• Coursework in Economics, Econometrics, and Statistics required
• Native level Japanese and business level English is required
• Prior research experience highly desirable
• Analytical skills, logical thinking, numeracy skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; team player
• Working in Excel and program writing in VBA is a plus
• Experience using statistical software and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel,
Python, eViews, R, etc)
Responsibilities
The assignment duration will be for 1 year,
3-5 days per week (duration and frequency
negotiable depending on your school
schedule). The intern will support the Japan
Economics team in Tokyo.
• Support the Japan Economics Team in
conducting economic research, analyzing
economic data, monitoring and reporting on
relevant macroeconomics indicators, market
trends and events
• Work with economists to handle requests for
information from clients and other Goldman
Sachs divisions
• Assist in preparing presentations and
publications
• Maintaining and updating financial and
macro market models, proprietary indexes,
etc.
