RESPONSIBILITIES
This trainee role is suited to a candidate with technical and educational background in computer science or information technology.
The candidate will participate to provide multiple technology centric services within the execution services team, covering support and development for clients and users, coupled with the inhouse and vendor’s best in class technology solutions.
Working in a fast paced cash equity and listed derivatives information technology team, you are expected to support our tools and applications with some additional development.
The successful candidate will work alongside a high-caliber team at one of the world’s largest and innovative investment banks.
You will join a team of expertise who plays an essential part of the client onboarding for Japan markets and you will naturally gain knowledge of various trading systems and high frequency trading through support of our platforms.
■Main tasks:
- Assist with filing and tracking applications, requests, costs related to our clients and the exchanges in which we operate
- Support of our day to day systems
- Involved in UAT testing
- Monitoring and troubleshooting of our systems
- Maintain some of our tools written in Python
- Proactive incident management
- Communicate with internal teams and vendors to facilitate the functioning of our team
- Involved in data center and colocation management
- Assist with client on-boarding
- Assist with infrastructure upgrades
- Assist with updating static data
PROFILE REQUIRED
■Expectation:
- Business analysis skill (e.g. understanding of Japan exchanges / clearing house documentation / requirement etc.)
- Strong desire to learn new technology and business through the job
- Strictly follow the local compliance and regulatory requirement
- Escalate concerns, mistakes, inconsistency with no hesitation
- Service the business and client and ensure all the operational requirements are met with a high standard
- Be a subject matter expert to take a lead in the area where you are good at
- Risk assessed mindset, identify potential risks in technology and try to implement workflow to eliminate them
- Provide support to the team management and members by understanding the bank’s strategy to promote the group value
- Willing to learn exchange API specifications and protocols
- Understanding of the software version control management and other software control tools
- UNIX skills including ability to analyze/parse log files using utilities such as grep, awk, sed.
- Understanding of software life-cycle phases including development, testing, release and maintenance.
- Understanding of database querying languages such as SQLite/MySQL/Postgre.
■Qualification:
- Ability to communicate in both Japanese and English
- Basic understanding in networking, linux, scripting, database, and programming (e.g. Python, C#, VBA)
- A computer science or engineering major background + business / finance major background is a plus
